RECRUITING Students
Prepare a job description and outline of the position that you are considering, time frame and location. Keep in mind that the best time to recruit is in the fall. You can identify potential graduates for December, April and August graduation. Most companies do their major recruiting in January and February for April graduates and for summer internships. Typically by March and April most graduates/interns are taken. The BYU FM program typically graduates 25 students per year with an average of 15 in April and five in August and December respectively.
Call Dottie Jensen, Career Placement Center, (801) 422-6931 or cell (801) 360-0465. The Career Placement Center will discuss your options of coming to recruit on campus or to conduct the interview process from a distance. You will be sent a recruiting packet with full instructions including the user name and password to E-Recruiting, BYU's online employment service. E-Recruiting allows employers to set candidate criteria, notify potential candidates that meet criteria, review resumes, set interview dates and schedules, correspond with candidates etc.
*Note* Career Placement can also schedule interview rooms, setup information sessions, and order food and media equipment for information sessions. Contact the program chair Dr. Jeffery L. Campbell, 801-422-8758 or jcampbell@byu.edu, if you have not already done so. Dr. Campbell can help promote your positions with the students.
